Kuzma: Terribly Funny - The Film Will Premiere on August 13

The biographical drama "Kuzma: Terribly Funny" about the iconic Kuzma Skryabin will be released on August 13. The film, created by the makers of "Yaremchuk: The Incomparable World of Beauty," is entirely based on unique archives, most of which have never been published before.

The story of Andriy Kuzmenko, the leader of the band "Skryabin," who was loved by millions but truly known by few. Through exclusive, previously unseen archives, the film reveals his inner transformations, self-irony, and a life lived at full speed that still resonates today.

Directed by Artem Hryhorian, the film takes the viewer on Kuzma's journey — from a boy in Novoyavorivsk to an icon of Ukrainian pop culture. It is a film about freedom, pain, and love for people, themes that echoed in every word he spoke. The film explores Kuzma as a figure of cultural memory, who remains alive and influential even decades after his absence.

The initiator and producer of the film is the studio KNIFE! Films, the creators of hits like "Yaremchuk: The Incomparable World of Beauty," "Okean Elzy: Observing the Storm," and "EPISODES: Ukraine at the Mundial."

The search for the maximum amount of archival materials and candid conversations with Kuzma's close ones forms the foundation of the film's work. For this, the KNIFE! Films team found and processed over 400 hours of video and audio materials and more than 22,000 photographs. It is thanks to this that Kuzma tells his own story.

The nationwide release of the documentary film "Kuzma: Terribly Funny" will start on August 13. Simultaneously, screenings will take place in 20 countries.
